Avatar

As we all know, the movie Avatar was a huge success. It was the highest grossing movie ever to hit theatres. Now movie producers are taking advantage of the 3D technology. Before 3D movies were novelties, every once in a while a movie would come out and it would so happen to be in 3D. Now in the past few weeks it's becoming more and more apparent that every movie that comes onto the silver screen is in 3D. Now some movies this fits, as in Avatar. Movies the 3D was made for, and the story line sucks, then it's good to use it. But now we get movies like Alice in Wonderland, and Clash of the Titans, where last minute the producers after filming were like, "Hey, Avatar did well in 3D; let's make this 3D even though it will be totally pointless!"

I am sick of it, it's getting to the point that I agree with online piracy of movies. I mean let's face it, look in the theatres right now, and I will bet you anything that at least two movies that don't need to be in 3D. Take this September for example, Resident Evil 4 will be hitting the big screens, every Resident Evil movie so far has done absolutely fine in normal 2D movies, now they want to introduce 3D to it! What they need to do if they want to make a movie pop out is FILM IT IN 3D!!! The movies that are being released right now that are not meant for 3D aren't even filmed for it! So when you watch it, you don't see the entire body of the person you only see the top half, and it looks stupid to see only the top half of a body popping out of a screen.

Now to be fair to the producers it is a good way to make back money. Theatres charge about 50% more for a ticket to see a 3D movie than a regular 2D movie. And then we have the pot heads that think it would be amazing to watch a movie that's in 3D, high as a kite. So there is defiantly ticket sales going on, but I don't think that in anytime soon are we going to see a movie as much as a success as Avatar for 3D movies.

Tell me what you think. Do you agree with the new market for 3D movies, or do you think most movies should stay the same to normal 2D and every once in a while, maybe once a year 3D movie?

Cheers!

Childhood Dreams come true!

It's Monday, but today isn't going to be a rant or anything, mostly a question of right or wrong.

So in biology class, my assignment is to genetically modify a food, on paper. Now when I was a child I thought brown cows gave chocolate milk. And that's what I'm going to modify, A chocolate milk giving cow! So I guess the question is, is it unethical to do so? Would the food inspection agencies allow this, or would PETA protest this as well?

Let's look at the pros and cons here.

Pros: Chocolate Milk, Easy to Produce, Saves Money by less processing.

Cons: Genetically modified (could be cancerous, everything is), do calves enjoy drinking chocolate? And there is no control of how chocolaty or flavourless the milk will be.

There are equal amounts of Pros and Cons that I can get right now, if any more please comment below...

Now, If PETA and the NGO's and the Canadian Government shake their heads at this idea, what other ways is there to get around their ideas and have this product sell on the Grocery Store Shelves?

And what the hell do you feed a cow that produces Chocolate milk? You can't feed it anything that will ruin the taste of chocolate; it would have to be a high sugar high cocoa diet, which only means one thing, a diabetic cow. Cows would die; we would be milk less, and would have to only rely on adding chocolate syrup once again!

There is no research that is happening on this current field of agriculture because it's impossible to do it. Many genes would have to be genetically engineered; genes from the cocoa plant, genes from sugar cane, and genes from the lab.

Here is an excerpt from How stuff works.com

"It's not so farfetched an idea. For example, scientists have taken a gene from a spider and added it to goats. The new gene lets the goats produce spider silk proteins in their milk. Scientists did this hoping that they could filter the spider proteins out of the milk and make super-strong string from it. So why not add chocolate genes to a cow and get chocolate milk? Making a chocolate milk cow is not quite so simple. One reason is that chocolate milk does not contain just one thing. To make chocolate milk, you need to add sugar to the milk as well as cocoa. So scientists would first have to figure out how to make milk sweeter. Without the extra sweetness, the chocolate milk would not taste very good.

There's also the fact that not just one molecule makes chocolate taste chocolaty. Several chemicals work together to create the taste of chocolate. So scientists would have to add genes for all these different chemicals to the cow, and get them produced in the right amounts."

Just do It.

Yep, I'm back again.

But this is important I swear!

Ok so we've all heard about Tiger Woods and how he got into a little bit of trouble by sleeping around and what not. Ever since then Tiger Woods has been suspended of some sponsors, has not been playing golf, has been mocked on Southpark, need I say more? Ok so recently he has been back into the game of golf; in fact he will be playing at the Masters the next couple weeks. But because of the Masters tournament of gold, Nike decides to show a golf related commercial...Good marketing campaign right?

See here's where their wrong, they decided to have a commercial, an old commercial from last year of Tiger Woods, and his father speaking to him "What were you thinking, have you learned from your mistakes" etc. Now what I don't get is, how does this advertise a Nike Product?

Is it advertising, "Just do it like Tiger did"?

I don't know, because the only message I get here is, Tiger's deceased father, looking down on him and asking for him to realise that he has done wrong, and is he willing to look back at his mistakes and work from them and fix things.

The Script goes like this:

"Tiger, I am more prone to be inquisitive to promote discussion. I want to find out what your thinking was."

"I want to find out what your feelings are," Earl continues, from the grave

"And did you learn anything?" Earl Woods asks.

The face of Tiger is a death stare, and really what I expected was at the end, for comic relief is for the check to come out, with big writing "Just do it"

I posted the commercial for those of you that haven't seen it can.

On Wednesdays it's a wildcard, it could be whatever is on my mind, NEWS in the world, a story, anything at all.

And Fridays will most likely be a story or a review of something.

So if anyone rejects to this proposition get the hell out, or better yet say nay and I will do my best to change things!

What has this world come to?

Hey guys, yeah long time no blogging, but hey, I'm back and better than ever!

So I guess I'm gonna start out with a little rant! YAY!!

1)WTF is up with this world, I mean, ok we have Haiti so the world is coming to an end, then we have a black president in the US, then we have Tiger Woods- ahh WTF!! Im not even gonna finish this, if you want to know just google it yourself! (just so you guys know, I am not racist one bit, but cmon lets be serious here, there has never been a black president, and I think its cool!)

2) A fellow mate and I were walking the other day, and had a good conversation about the power of the vagina. I mean think about it, do you really think Obama makes decisions on his own? HELL NO! That health care reform came out of Michelle Obama's mouth when she was screaming with pleasure.. Either that or she said, "pass the bill or no one is getting any suga tonight" .. totally understandable.

3) Being a senior in my highschool means everything, it means that I can punk around little grade 9 kids who think they are the toughest shit in the school!, It means I'm the top dog,,, however it also means one other thing,, marks count! And if I screw up the rest of this semester, I'm screwed for the rest of my life. Now don't get me wrong, I can still work at NoFrills but it still sucks, and isn't really a career choice of anyone. Which brings me to my next point.

4) HOW THE HELL DID THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH GET CAUGHT UP IN THIS FRIGGIN PROFESSION SITUATION!! Sorry i had to cross out profession, because I mean let's face it, working at a grocery store for 12.50 an hour and putting up with a psychopath Dutch boss who thinks he's the king,, really sucks. But let's look at it deeper shall we?

The average Canadian worker makes about $49 000 a year. Now take $12.50 and multiply that by 40 hours a week, 52 weeks in a year and you get roughly $26000 that's roughly half the amount of an average person. Now, don't get me wrong, working for Nofrills has its benefits... It's a straight forward job, working with friends, and you get close to full health benefits as in dental, and prescription etc. But that's provided by the Union, who by the way don't do shit for us. In fact, me as a student couldn't care less if we had a union or not! They permanently screw us over, for example let's say I need a day, which I am scheduled to work on, off ... and let's say I want to change it, well I can't because trades of shifts are accordingly to seniority. Which means managers have to look down the list and see who wants to take my shift, and if everyone is working that day,,, IM SCREWED!

So all in all I hate my job, but please forum answer this question for me...

How is it that I have been working there for 3 years?

Is it the money, the people I work with, the easiness of a job (a friggin monkey can do it), the hot girls that come shopping with their mom, or is it the fact that I can say I have a job and going to school and going to get a post secondary education after this? YOU BE THE JUDGE!
